Minjee Lee Reveals Her Secret to Beating Singapore Heat After 12 Years on Tour

Feb 28, 2026, 5:35 PM CUT

Minjee Lee took the longest break of her career, and now she's one round away from a fourth major.

Even though it is 30 degrees and the air is humid, the Australian star will still be playing strongly for that win.

In a quick-quotes session at Sentosa Golf Club on February 28, 2026, the three-time major winner talked about playing golf under heat.

"I think because I kind of know what to expect when I come here, I know it's going to be hot," Lee said on Saturday.

"Once you're playing, it's just try and have as much fluid as you can and keep hydrated and have good recovery and rest. I think because I'm not as young as I used to be, so just recovery is more the key now than anything."

Twelve years on tour will change a player. All the panic and overthinking are gone, too. She is not taking stress to a level or trying to fix things that are already good. Now she has a clear focus, and her body knows what it needs.

It shows how she takes care of herself all week. With one round left, this plan will face its biggest test.

HSBC Title Is One Round Away, and Lee Knows What to Do

A seven-week break and one month of training is all it took for Lee to stand at 11 under with one round left to play.

The 2026 HSBC Women’s World Championship at Sentosa Golf Club is going into its final round on Sunday, March 1, 2026.

This time, there are not many veteran players at the top of the leaderboard. But Minjee Lee stands out as the most experienced player still in the fight on Sunday.

Also, her approach to Sunday’s final round is the same as it has been all week. It is simple, calm, and unbothered.

"Just maybe go and have a good sleep. Have some good food while I'm here in Singapore. I'm not sure how much practice I'll do because I'm melting away right now." Lee said when asked how she prepares for Sunday.

Lee did not even touch her clubs until about a month before this event. After the CME Group Tour Championship in November 2025, she flew to South Korea.

It was not about fixing her swing, nor was it about starting a new fitness routine. All of it is about knowing what her body needed and giving it that.

It showed on Friday when she shot an 8-under 64. She made an eagle on the second hole and moved right back into contention.
