The field for the Valspar Championship is in flux. Just days before the tournament, four notable players have withdrawn from the event. This shake-up has opened the door for several alternates to compete for the $9.1 million purse.

PGA TOUR Communications confirmed three withdrawals and their replacements via X on Monday.

The first withdrawal came from Keith Mitchell, with no official reason disclosed. Mitchell is a PGA Tour winner and has recorded multiple strong finishes across recent seasons. He has been replaced in the field by 29-year-old Doug Ghim, who steps in as an alternate.

The second withdrawal comes from two-time PGA TOUR winner Robert MacIntyre, who opted to step away following his solo fourth-place finish at The 2026 Players Championship.

The 2024 Genesis Scottish Open winner indicated a need for rest ahead of his next start. Andrew Putnam replaces him in the field, having recently competed at TPC Sawgrass.

The third withdrawal involves the 2025 Bahamas Great Abaco Classic winner Sudarshan Yellamaraju, who exited after a career-best performance at The Players Championship, where he finished tied for fifth at 9-under par and earned $925,000.

Kris Ventura, the 2019 Utah Championship winner, takes Yellamaraju’s place in the lineup, coming in after a T22 finish at the Farmers Insurance Open earlier this season.

William Mouw, who made his debut at this event in 2025, also withdrew. Last year, he missed the cut with a two-round score of 6-over par.

Mouw has been replaced by Justin Lower, who enters the field following previous appearances at the Copperhead Course, including a withdrawal during the 2024 edition.

Valspar Championship 2026 Field Expands as Alternates and Exemptions Fill Spots

With Brooks Koepka entering the field through the Returning Member Program, the lineup was expanded to 135 players to complete threesomes.

This brought in Seamus Power and Matt Kuchar as the first two alternates, while Henrik Norlander received a sponsor exemption.

Power enters with recent success at the Copperhead Course, including a T8 finish in 2025 and a 26th-place finish in 2024.

Kuchar returns with multiple top-25 finishes at this event, including a 49th-place result in his last start in 2024. Norlander joins the field after his exemption was confirmed earlier in the week.
