Nelly Korda Is the Only World-Class Star Not Showing Up for This LPGA Event

Since its inception in 2008, winners in Singapore have regularly come from the upper ranks of the LPGA.
As the HSBC Women's World Championship returns in 2026 with a $3 million purse and a 72-player field, nine of the world’s top 10 players are set to compete.
World No. 2 Nelly Korda will not travel to Sentosa Golf Club, as she is scheduled to resume her season in mid-March.
After winning the season-opening Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, Nelly Korda will sit out the next three LPGA events.
During the 2025 season, Korda played 19 LPGA events. Her father, Petr Korda, has said he prefers a lighter schedule, a topic they discussed together in December at the PNC Championship.
Korda explained that playing between 18 and 20 events suits her best and that she avoids competing four weeks in a row, citing physical strain and injury risk.
The two-time major winner explained, “I've seen my body deteriorate over that, and I kind of get into the zone of possibly getting injured."
Korda is set to return six weeks later at the Fortinet Founders Cup, scheduled for March 19–22 in Menlo Park, California.
That schedule means she will not be part of the field in Singapore for the HSBC Women’s World Championship.

The HSBC Women's World Championship is scheduled for February 26 to March 1, 2026.
The tournament will be played on the Tanjong Course at Sentosa Golf Club, a venue noted for being the first golf club in the world to achieve carbon-neutral status.
Across the HSBC Women's World Championship’s 17 editions, 15 titles have gone to major champions, with former world No. 1 Lydia Ko the most recent winner.
With the field now set, the world’s top-ranked players are well represented, with the exception of Nelly Korda, and are led by:
Jeeno Thitikul leads the field, joined by Minjee Lee (3), Miyu Yamashita (4), Charley Hull (5), Lydia Ko (6), Ruoning Yin (7), Lottie Woad (8), Hyo Joo Kim (9), and Sei Young Kim (10).
