Nelly Korda didn’t need years on tour to form an opinion about Scottie Scheffler. It happened during her very first TaylorMade holiday shoot in early 2024.

Talking about that experience later, Korda explained who stood out to her right away.

“The only one was… Scotty,” she said, before the host asked, “good impression.” And Korda responded, "Super nice... I know everyone is… everyone always said how nice he was,” she recalled.

“My sister was like, ‘So is he as nice as everyone says?’” Korda said. Her answer didn’t hesitate. “And I'm like he’s… he’s extremely nice. He’s as nice as everyone says, yes.”

And it looks like her admiration for Scheffler has only grown. Ahead of the 2025 KPMG Women's PGA Championship, Korda spoke about Scheffler.

"Yeah, he's just an incredible player, incredible human being, and how consistent he is week in and week out, that's something to look up to... He's just so steady. That's something I've been working on—just staying in my own bubble and trusting the process."

Ahead of the 2025 Open Championship, Scheffler stunned many when he said winning isn’t everything to him.

“It’s fulfilling from the sense of accomplishment, but it’s not fulfilling from a sense of the deepest places of your heart,” he told reporters, adding that even a major victory can feel meaningful for only a short moment before life moves on.

Fellow players and media have echoed this, noting he stays grounded and humble even while dominating. Jordan Spieth once said, "I think it’s more so the difference in personality from any other superstar that you’ve seen in the modern era and maybe in any sport. I don’t think anybody is like him."

Fleetwood also joined in the praise. "If he keeps going the way he is, we’re all going to look back and talk about him in the same breath as some of the all-time greats, and he’s played in our generation."
