Nelly Korda reveals one major goal still driving her after breakthrough 2026 season

After a winless 2025 season, world No. 1 Nelly Korda has had a dream season this time around. From winning the season opener at Lake Nona to securing two straight major titles, the 28-year-old now has her eyes set on one thing: the Solheim Cup.
Winning the U.S. Women’s Open at Riviera has been the highlight of Korda’s season. However, lifting the Solheim Cup for her nation on European soil might just top it.
“Now it’s real,” Korda said on Wednesday at the FM Championship. “Now it’s time to get ready after this week for the Netherlands and to represent our country. There is no greater feeling, especially stepping onto that first tee box.”

After winning four titles this season, Korda can’t wait to bring her newfound confidence to Bernardus Golf in North Brabant, Netherlands.
Korda, with a 10-5-1 record across four Solheim Cups, leads the team in appearances alongside 28-year-old Megan Khang.
Team USA is all set, and Korda senses the leadership in the squad.
“But I feel like everyone on that team is very vocal and comfortable with each other," Korda added, as reported by GOLF's Josh Schrock. "So we can all lean on each other and kind of all feel like leaders.”
2015 was the last time the US team won on European soil. The defending champion will look to break the decade-long deadlock.
At the start of this week, Team USA captain Angela Stanford named her captains’ picks.
Angela Stanford rounds out Team USA
On Monday, captain Angela Stanford announced her three captains' picks. Megan Khang, Rose Zhang and Lindy Duncan completed the 12-player Team USA squad.
“I’m so proud and excited for this group,” said Stanford, as per the LPGA's report. “Now, we are ready to get to the Netherlands and represent the Red, White & Blue.”
Duncan will be joining 26-year-old Auston Kim as a rookie on the team. However, she’ll also be the oldest athlete on the 2026 Team, at 35.
Khang brings a lot of experience with her. She is 7-0-1 over her last eight Solheim Cup matches and has featured at the last four editions of the competition.
Zhang was on another level at the 2024 Solheim Cup. She went 4-0-0, and none of her matches went to the 17th hole.
