The PGA vs. LIV conversation, in terms of winner purses!

The LPGA season began with a milestone. It was marked by Nelly Korda’s first victory since 2024. The win ended a winless 2025 season also marked the 16th LPGA title of her career.

Meanwhile, in the PGA season, Justin Rose opened the 2026 season with a statement win. He went wire to wire at the Farmers Insurance Open on February 1. 

At 45, Rose became the oldest winner in the event’s history. Rose finished at 23-under 265.

After those opening wins on the PGA and LPGA Tours, attention now turns to what the changes added to their resumes.

All about Justin Rose’s 2026 Farmers Insurance Open 

Justin Rose’s performance at the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open set the tone for the week. He finished at 23-under 265 after rounds of 62, 65, 68, and 70. The result delivered his second win at the tournament.

Rose secured the title by seven shots at Torrey Pines. Behind him, Pierceson Coody, Si Woo Kim, and Ryo Hisatsune shared second place. All three players closed the event at 16-under in the two-course setup.

Following the win, Rose collected $1,728,000 from the $9.6 million purse. The victory also earned him 57.6 Official World Golf Ranking points. Those points contributed to movement in the world rankings.

In addition, Rose added 500 FedEx Cup points. The event awarded points at the standard PGA Tour level for a 72-hole stroke-play format.

All about Nelly Korda’s 2026 Hilton Grand Vacations

Nelly Korda led the field at the 2026 Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. She claimed the win at Lake Nona Golf and Country Club in Orlando, Florida.

The tournament was reduced to 54 holes due to the weather over the weekend. Korda finished at 13-under 203 after rounds of 68, 71, and 64. It marked her first LPGA Tour win in over a season.

The result also became the 16th victory of her career. She won by three shots over Amy Yang. With the win, Korda earned $315,000 from the $2.1 million purse. She also picked up 500 Race to the CME Globe points.

Those points count toward qualification for the CME Group Tour Championship later in the season.
