In any case, having a backup plan provides better security to the involved individual/s, but an eight-time PGA Tour winner didn't consider any such option before choosing his profession.

On March 28, 2024, Keegan Bradley and Rory McIlroy, appeared in a Q&A video on Golf.com, where the former revealed that he risked his future to become a professional golfer as he never had a secondary plan.

In his answer to the question, "If Golf didn't exist what you would be doing?" Bradley admitted, "I think about this all the time. I'm so lucky that I'm good at golf. I never had a backup plan in my life."

Well, considering the prowess Keegan has shown on the course over the years, it wouldn't be wrong to say that he didn't really need to consider a backup plan.

The 39-year-old turned professional in 2008. Since then, he has built a steady career on the PGA Tour. In 2011, he won the PGA Championship in his major debut. That victory marked his first major title.

Over his career, Bradley has recorded 13 professional wins. Eight of those have come on the PGA Tour. He has earned more than $56 million in prize money as of late 2025. In June 2025, he reached a career-high world ranking of seventh.

Bradley was named PGA Tour Rookie of the Year in 2011. He was also selected as the captain of team U.S.A for the Ryder Cup 2025.

But while Bradley admitted that he never had a backup plan except golf, he also revealed his second career choice hypothetically.

If Not Golf, What Path Would've Keegan Bradley Taken

Bradley's answer to the question about his second career choice displayed his affinity towards sports. The 39-year-old chose an unspecified role as his alternative career option, but he wanted to be associated with sports.

Bradley mentioned, "But if I could choose something that I would love to do, I would love to work in Boston sports in some way, like work with the Patriots, the Red Sox, and be in that Boston sports atmosphere."

Bradley is an avid follower of the Boston and New England-based sporting teams. These include the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, New England Patriots, and Boston Bruins.

Over time, Bradley has said he grew up wanting to play for a Boston-based team. He later became connected to the region through golf. He is part of Boston Common Golf, which represents Boston and New England in the TGL.

He still attends local games when possible and has thrown a ceremonial first pitch twice at Fenway Park in 2011 and 2022.

But today, can you imagine him in Boston sports-based role instead of a being one of the most renowned golfers worldwide?Tough, isn't it?
