As Europe seeks a third consecutive Ryder Cup win, the US must rebuild with young talent. These nine US golfers could very well be on their way to making their Ryder Cup debut.
At the beginning of May, US team captain Jim Furyk chose Justin Leonard and Stewart Cink as two of his captain's assistants for the biennial event. Now, it’s time for the rest of the 12-man team to shape up.
World No. 7 Chris Gotterup is the highest-ranked American yet to make his debut in the Ryder Cup. He has been in fine form this season, winning three titles, and is all set to feature at Adare Manor next year.

Winner of the 2025 Barracuda Championship, Ryan Gerard is also in the mix to make his debut, as reported by Bunkered's John Turnbull. Ranked world No. 24, the 27-year-old will certainly be a good pick.
World No. 31 Jacob Bridgeman registered his first PGA Tour victory this season at the Genesis Invitational. He has only missed the cut at the PGA Championship this year and could very well seal a spot next year.
Akshay Bhatia’s talent is not going under the radar. A junior Ryder Cup and Walker Cup star, Bhatia has three PGA Tour wins at 24. He continues to up his game and will certainly seal his spot in the future.
33-year-old JT Poston secured his biggest victory at the Memorial Tournament this year. The four-time PGA Tour winner also posted a top-five finish at the US Open. His Ryder Cup debut doesn’t look far away.
Jake Knapp and Maverick McNealy only have one PGA Tour victory to their name. However, the pair has often showcased moments of brilliance. Both need a signature victory to separate themselves from the pack, just like 24-year-old Michael Thorbjornsen, who’s looking for his first win.
Lastly, it’s the man of the moment, Jackson Koivun. The 21-year-old racked up his first win at the 3M Open in iconic fashion, edging out world No.1 Scottie Scheffler. It won’t be a surprise if the former world No.1 amateur makes his way into the US team.
Europe's Three-Peat Bid: Luke Donald's Backroom Team Takes Shape
The European team will be aiming for their third consecutive win over the US at the Ryder Cup next year. They have been a step ahead of their opponents in the preparations.
Luke Donald could become the first captain to win three straight times. Following his appointment, he picked the Molinari brothers, Edoardo and Francesco, for his backroom team.
On 29th July, Donald named Irishman Padraig Harrington as his third vice-captain.
"Luke and I arranged to meet up at The Open and chatted about it, and we felt we could strike up a good team again," said Harrington, as per Sky Sports.
It will certainly be an intense battle between the stacked teams at Adare Manor next year.
