Steve Stricker joined the other team at the PNC Championship with his daughter, Izzi Stricker. And speaking about sharing the course with his daughter, he reflected on the family-wide work ethic he proudly credits for their success.

“We have so much fun with it,” Stricker said after finishing round 1 and tying at 3 with team Love and team Korda. Steve admitted that he had a very meaningful experience seeing his daughter, Izzi Stricker. “We got two of them that are aspiring,” Steve said.

He further added, “I think Izzi will probably try to play professionally, too, the way she’s going. Bobbi is doing that now.” Rather than labeling her as a future star, Stricker focused on her commitment.

At the center of that, “Nobody works harder than Nicki,” Stricker added about how his wife has taken care of everything. “She works the hardest and is probably the most competitive out of all of us.” Even after years around the game, her drive to improve has not faded. “She continues to work at it,” he added.

Steve, along with his daughter Izzi, finished round 1 with 12-under 60. According to Stricker, “the girls see that, and they adopt that work ethic and see the desire that she has.” His pride in his daughter's inherited drive is evident.

“It’s a good atmosphere for all of us to be in,” Stricker said. And for this family, that environment may be the strongest foundation of all. The Stricker family has all the genes in golf, as Steve’s wife is also a former collegiate golfer at Wisconsin.

Izzi Stricker Also Won With Mom Nicki

Earlier this year, Izzi teamed up with her mother, Nicki Stricker, to win the Wisconsin State Women’s Four-Ball at the Legend at Bergamont. Izzi even joked about their perfect record together. “I’m 1-0 with her, so she’s clearly the better partner,” Izzi said with a smile before quickly adding, “I’m kidding. I’m kidding.”

The result was sealed in style. Nicki, who, like Izzi, played collegiate golf at Wisconsin, birdied the final three holes to close out the victory. Izzi was quick to credit her mother’s performance. “They’re both really competitive. I would say my mom is more competitive,” she said of her parents. “That was so fun. Yeah, she actually carried me that day. She made seven birdies.”
