Others Are Choking, Scottie Scheffler Isn’t: 6x Major Champion Makes Bold Claims

Dec 4, 2025, 2:00 PM CUT

Scottie Scheffler isn’t just winning; he’s separating himself from a field crumbling under pressure. While others search for answers, the 6-time major champion is doubling down on confidence, control, and a mindset built for big moments.

In an interview with the Belfast Telegraph, another six-time major champion said, “Scottie seems to be very clear-headed right now… He’s in that wonderful moment where he trusts his game 100 percent. It’s like Tiger was.”

That comparison isn’t thrown around lightly, and Scheffler’s 2025 season backs it up. With wins at the PGA Championship and The Open, plus four additional PGA Tour victories, Scheffler has turned consistency into a weapon. Week after week, he shows up and immediately dictates the tone. That's why Nick Faldo didn’t mince words when assessing Scottie Scheffler’s state of mind.

“Scottie’s in that lovely mindset and routine of going to every tournament thinking, ‘How do I find a way to win this?’” Faldo told the Belfast Telegraph. And that mentality has defined Scheffler’s rise. Whether it was his 2022 Masters breakthrough or his 2024–2025 run of converting close calls into dominant Sundays.

Where many players fade under early pressure, Faldo highlighted the opposite: “Some guys are choking on Thursday, but Scottie is choke-free at the moment, which is amazing.” Scheffler’s ability to avoid those early-round pitfalls has become part of his identity.

Even when the swing isn’t perfect, he rarely posts a number that removes him from contention. He showed his resilience at events like the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational, where he shot his four-round scores (71-72-71-70). Though Russell Henley won the API 2025, the last round scores were the same, showing exactly what Faldo means.

All of these points toward a player who isn’t riding momentum; he’s building a foundation. Clear-headed decision-making, trust in his swing, and a calm competitive rhythm have allowed Scheffler to separate himself from the field. Others may wobble as the stakes rise, but Scheffler continues to prove why his name sits at the center of golf’s modern era.
