Patrick Reed's comments about returning to the PGA Tour sparked a lot of discussions, and now the 35-year-old has come up with a breakdown of his remarks.

Speaking at the Dubai Invitational on January 18 during an interview, Reed said he would be happy to make a PGA Tour comeback if he got the chance. He also added, "If it were up to me, I’d play everywhere."

The 2018 Masters champion appeared on a recent episode of the Dan On Golf Show, where he clarified his stance about his previous remarks. Reed disclosed that he was asked whether he was disappointed by the PGA Tour's "open letter," which removed his name from the list of eligible returnees.

However, he said the PGA Tour's guidelines didn't leave much for him to respond to. "To be honest with you, there’s no real discussion after that [PGA Tour’s guidelines]. You sit there and say, ‘Well, maybe I’m not a part of that. So I don’t really have an opportunity."

Reed added that he enjoyed his time on the PGA Tour and called it “the best tour in the world,” while noting that “everything’s so fluid” and he isn’t sure what comes next.

Clarifying his stance amid questions about Brooks Koepka, Patrick Reed said he wasn’t part of the group mentioned in the “open letter,” so there wasn’t much for him to react to.

He said, "To be honest with you there’s no real discussion after that [PGA Tour’s guidelines]. You sit there and say, ‘Well, maybe I’m not a part of that. So I don’t really have an opportunity."

Well, Reed's wish to rejoin the PGA Tour may not have come to fruition, but that doesn't mean he has stopped showing his prowess on the course.

Patrick Reed has already won a tournament in 2026

Reed entered free agency in December 2025, which invoked his desire to return to the PGA Tour. While that wish wasn't fulfilled, Reed has already begun his 2026 season, and that too, with a win.

The 35-year-old bagged the top spot at the Dubai Desert Classic, converting his 54-hole lead into a four-stroke victory at 14 under on January 25.

Reed is yet to re-sign with LIV Golf, besides being rated ineligible by the PGA Tour's Returning Members' Program. But he will look to continue his victory run, regardless of the organisation he joins.

Which other tournaments do you think he will win this year?
