Patrick Reed Open to DP World Tour Appearance as Part of LIV Golf Season Prep

Patrick Reed’s 2025 season has been one of his most consistent in years, marked by grinding performances in tournaments like the BMW International Open and LIV Golf Andalucía. Whether on golf’s biggest stages or in LIV’s global stops, Reed has shown he’s far from fading from the spotlight. And now, as he looks ahead to shaping his prep for next season, one question lingers: could his next competitive stop come from a tour many didn’t expect?
In a recent conversation, after the International Series at the PIF Saudi International, Reed discussed the work behind his 2025 season and the adjustments he’s made to stay competitive. But one answer stood out, hinting at a direction few expected.
When asked about his current plans and upcoming LIV Golf’s season opener in February 2026 in Saudi Arabia, Reed mentioned, “Kind of reflect on some things, talk with my coaches, figure out what it is we want to work on in the off-season and kind of get ready for January."
That's becuse Reed may make another stop somewhere else. "I'll probably head over and play some of the events in Dubai, the DP World Tour to get ready for starting up here in Saudi for LIV,” he added during the interview.

Patrick Reed ended the PIF Saudi International with a T38 at 6-under. His rounds remained pretty even, and therefore, he was able to stay in the top half of the leaderboard throughout the series. With this play and the coming season, especially LIV Golf, Reed is open to new challenges.
The 35-year-old American golfer said, “For me, I just feel like the more holes you play, the top players are going to kind of rise to the occasion.” Reed is already thinking of the future and ready to challenge himself over four days once again when LIV switches to 72 holes next season. But for now, Patrick Reed has other plans.
Patrick Reed is Planning to Reset
When asked about his plans between now and LIV Golf’s season opener in Saudi Arabia, Reed made it clear that the immediate priority is rest. “I feel like it's well deserved,” said Reed. “It's 32 weeks this year already, I've played,” he added. Indeed, rest is required after playing the whole year, but how has Reed’s 2025 gone?

Well, Patrick Reed’s 2025 majors swung between brilliance and setbacks. He opened strong at The Masters, firing four steady rounds to finish 3rd at 9-under and earn $1.428 million. But that form slipped at the PGA Championship, where a 72-74 start led to a missed cut.
Later, he steadied himself at the U.S. Open, battling Oakmont to finish 23rd at +8 and add $161,489 to his season. The run ended on another low at the Open Championship, where a rough 77 opener sent him to a second missed cut.
With Reed hinting at a DP World Tour and LIV Golf, the 2026 story is taking shape. What do you think? How will the 35-year-old golfer show up ahead?
