Michael S. Kim shared that only select courses can still change how he feels when he steps into them.

The 2026 PGA Tour season opened with events along coastal locations. The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (Feb 12–15) marks the first event this year where the Tour is scheduled to play a course that carries ‘Links’ in its official name.

Michael S. Kim shared his thoughts on course conditions and how certain venues still impact players differently, addressing the topic on X on February 10.

“There truly aren’t that many courses in the world that get me in my feelings anymore. It’s way more about how my game is feeling, what golf shots I need to hit, and how to shoot the lowest scores.”

However, Kim added that a few venues still stand apart from the rest when it comes to the connection he feels while playing.

“Pebble, ANGC, awesome links courses. It just is really cool here,” said the 2018 John Deere Classic winner

Following this, Kim’s comments also connect with his history at these venues and events. 

At Pebble Beach, he has said it is one of the few courses that still creates a personal response for him, and he is scheduled to return for the 2026 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am after a tied-11 finish in an earlier appearance

Kim also noted that when the weather is stable at Pebble Beach, the course plays as expected, but when conditions change, the ocean can become rough and impact play, which he said could be possible on Sunday.

By Monday, conditions took an unexpected turn due to an unusual on-course interruption.

What began as a Monday at Pebble Beach shifted when activity on the course drew attention, not due to crowd noise, heckling, or security action.

Michael S. Kim shared a video on his X account showing the herd walking onto the Pebble Beach course and moving through the ropes.

Kim captioned it: "These unruly spectators are coming through the ropes now."

Kim later updated that the herd also moved through a bunker, leaving marks in the sand. As a result, course staff will need to repair the surface before play continues.
