PGA Tour Pro Gets Medical Help On the Course at the Cadillac Championship

Golfing injuries, though they might seem rare, are actually more common than people assume. The high velocity of a swing and repeated pressure can cause lumbar strain, and a PGA pro recently felt its impact during the Cadillac Championship.

Five-time PGA Tour winner Nick Taylor required on-course medical treatment during the Cadillac Championship but still played his way into contention.

The PGA Tour posted a short video on X of Taylor being assisted by a physiotherapist on Saturday, with the caption,

“You don’t see this every day 👀,”

Taylor needed treatment during his second round after his back tightened up in the middle of the round.

“Nick Taylor getting an on-course physio session after suffering from back issues,” added the Tour

He still finished the round with a 2-under 70 and moved to 8 under through 36 holes. Taylor was 3 under through the front nine and made eagle on the par-5 eighth.

The Canadian dropped shots on the back nine, including a drive into the water on the 18th, but made the bogey putt and avoided further damage. He ended the day in the clubhouse lead before the later groups finished.

Bryson DeChambeau Similar Mid-Round Physio Moment at Pinehurst

Bryson DeChambeau experienced a similar moment during the third round of the 2024 U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2, when he called for treatment after the 10th hole because of tightness in his right hip.

He was treated by trainer Ryan Overturf in a wooded area behind the 11th tee, where he underwent Muscle Activation Techniques to address the issue in his right hip.

After the treatment, DeChambeau felt an immediate difference, which followed with a 347-yard drive on the 11th, made birdie, shot a 3-under 67, and carried a three-shot lead into Sunday.

The 32-year-old went on to win the 2024 U.S. Open at 6-under, finishing one shot ahead of Rory McIlroy. This came after a final round that ended with the 55-yard bunker shot from DeChambeau.
