Prediction Market Enters Pro Golf for First Time Through LIV Golf Major Partnership

Professional LIV Golf just got a new kind of player in the game, but this one trades predictions, not iron shots.
LIV Golf announced a partnership with Novig, one of America’s fastest-growing sports prediction platforms, on April 8.
The deal will place Novig’s logo on the left sleeve of seven LIV players competing at the season’s first major from April 9–12. It also marks the first time a prediction market has been used at a live professional golf event anywhere in the world.
These aren’t just random names. 4Aces GC captain Dustin Johnson, Fireballs GC captain Sergio Garcia, Legion XIII captain Jon Rahm, and Ripper GC captain Cameron Smith are all part of it. Tyrrell Hatton, Tom McKibbin, and Charl Schwartzel complete the group of seven.
Together, they have won seven major championships.
Chad Biggs, EVP of Global Sponsorship and Activation at LIV Golf, described it as part of a bigger play.
"Our League is constantly evaluating how we can engage partners across our global calendar," Biggs said. "We also have an untapped opportunity to align partners with some of the best players during some of the most-watched moments in golf."
That last part matters. The Masters draws one of golf's biggest annual TV audiences. Getting a brand onto player kits during that window is a different thing entirely from a standard tour stop.
Novig CEO Jacob Fortinsky put it plainly.
"LIV Golf's roster is filled with winners, including former champions of the most prestigious tournament in golf," Fortinsky said. "Having our brand on the sleeve of players who have already succeeded on the sport's biggest stages puts Novig exactly where it should be."
Beyond the benefits Novig provides to LIV players, the platform also features exclusive deals for fans.
What the Novig Deal Actually Offers LIV Golf Fans at the Major
Beyond the sleeve patches, Novig is rolling out a $500,000 in-app contest tied to the tournament. Fans pick the winner once per day. Correct selections earn a share of the pool.
There's also a social content series in the works, and a special prediction market focused on LIV player storylines throughout the week.
However, there's one more thing; one contest winner gets the first-ever Novig Blue Blazer, handed over in person by a LIV Golf player.
LIV Golf has spent three years proving it belongs. Landing a first-of-its-kind deal at the sport's most-watched week is a statement. Not just for LIV but for where prediction markets are headed in the sport.
