Billy Horschel is firing back at claims linking player injuries to Tiger Woods's TGL. The eight-time PGA Tour winner took to social media to defend the league. He directly pushed back on the idea that it was responsible for his or other players' recent injuries.
“Please stop! TGL had nothing to do with my injury. And I would suspect nothing to do with the other guys.”
The conversation gained attention after players, including Sahith Theegala, Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele, Rory McIlroy, and Collin Morikawa, dealt with injuries over the past year while also taking part in the league created by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

Horschel’s injury dates back to May 2025, when he withdrew from the Zurich Classic and later underwent hip surgery at the Steadman Clinic. The procedure addressed a labrum tear and other damage in the joint. And fans supported Horschel.
As the discussion continued online, some users questioned the suggestion that injuries could be tied to participation in TGL. Referring to Justin Thomas, who returned to competition after undergoing a microdiscectomy in November 2025 to treat a herniated disc, one comment read:
“Ahh, yes, JT's back surgery that he had done in November was a result of playing TGL 10 months before that. Give me a break.”
When Monday Q Info asked, "Do you agree that a lot of TGL players are battling injuries right now?" Horschel's response said it all. "Injuries happen in sport. I’m not battling an injury."
For Now, Horschel Is Back To Playing Golf
He returned to competition in September 2025 at the BMW PGA Championship and began playing a full PGA Tour schedule again in early 2026.
While he is back on tour, Horschel has said the recovery process is still ongoing. Doctors initially projected a recovery timeline of one to two years, and he noted that his hip can still feel tired or tight after rounds.
Despite that, Horschel posted his best result since the surgery with a T13 finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational earlier this month.
Do you think TGL has anything to do with these injuries, or is it just a coincidence?
