Robert MacIntyre labeled Scottie Scheffler’s current dominance as outrageous during a recent interview.
The Scotsman noted his own career success feels insignificant compared to Scheffler’s consistency. Scheffler currently rivals Tiger Woods’ prime with 20 PGA Tour victories at age 29.
“I still don’t know how good I can get. What Scottie [Scheffler] is doing right now is outrageous. How good is that guy? We can all shoot eight, nine under on our day. But the consistency, the work ethic, the structure of what he and Ted [Scott, his caddie] have built—that’s a different level.” said MacIntyre in a recent interview.

Scheffler became the first golfer to win each of his first four majors by at least three shots, claiming the Masters Tournament (three and four shots), PGA Championship (five), and The Open Championship (four). He also joined Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Tiger Woods as one of the few to win the Masters, PGA, and Open before turning 30.
MacIntyre said he has learned by studying why top players are better and what they do differently, adding that competing against the world’s best every week over the past two years has accelerated his progress.
Just the US Open remains missing as Scheffler looks forward to adding it to his trophy cabinet. With that win, he would become only the seventh player, in golf's entire history, to complete the Career Grand Slam.
However, MacIntyre has also made his name in the sport. Reaching his highest rank of 5 in January 2026 and winning consecutive Ryder Cups representing Europe, MacIntyre is well on his way to building his own legacy.
Scheffler and MacIntyre’s Solid Start This Season
Scottie Scheffler opened the season by winning The American Express for his 20th PGA Tour title, becoming just the third player with 20 wins and four majors before 30, alongside Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.
He then finished runner-up to Rory McIlroy at the Masters Tournament and lost in a playoff to Matt Fitzpatrick at RBC Heritage.
On the other hand, MacIntyre’s best performance was at the Valero Texas Open where he finished tied for 2nd. The fourth place finish at The PLAYERS Championship highlighted his strong form.
Both, Scheffler and MacIntyre, are formidable players on the PGA Tour and are likely to go head-to-head at the Ryder Cup next year.
