Scottie Scheffler Narrows Gap to Tiger Woods In Race For PGA Tour

Scottie Scheffler just capped off one of the best seasons of his career with a PGA Tour Player of the Year award, his fourth in a row.

And with big wins come big prize money. But how does it stack up against one of the biggest golfers ever?

Scottie Scheffler vs. Tiger Woods Earnings

Financially, Scheffler’s on-course success has translated into more than $90 million in PGA Tour earnings, while financial estimates value his net worth at roughly $110 million. His overall career income, including endorsements, is believed to be close to $200 million.

This is despite his equal 50–50 prize-money split with caddie Ted Scott, a structure some critics have labeled “childish,” but one Scheffler has never wavered from.

And that comes from Scheffler's impressive $27.6 million in PGA Tour earnings, the highest single-season total in Tour history, which is almost triple Woods’ $10.87 million haul from his iconic 2007 season.

Based on his 2025 form, Scheffler’s run at the financial and competitive territory long defined by Woods may only now be taking shape.

But does that mean Scottie Scheffler has overtaken Tiger Woods?

Woods’ legacy still is the benchmark. He owns 15 major championships, a total surpassed only by Jack Nicklaus’ 18, and held the world No. 1 ranking for a record 683 total weeks, including a dominant stretch between 1999 and 2004. Scheffler hasn't matched those numbers yet, and he thinks the comparisons aren't what he's chasing.

"It’s very silly to be compared to Tiger Woods. I think Tiger is a guy that stands alone in the game of golf, and I think he always will. Tiger inspired a whole generation of golfers. You’ve grown up watching that guy do what he did week in, week out, it was pretty amazing to see."

As for Tiger Woods, he has an appreciation for the world number 1 as well. “What he's doing on the golf course is just incredible," Woods said. "The strategy, the consistency, the way he's present for all 18 holes - you just don't see this happen very often."
