Brooks Koepka's return to the PGA Tour from LIV Golf sparked a collection of reactions from noted golfing personalities, and Scottie Scheffler recently included himself in that list.

During his appearance on the latest episode of SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio, Scheffler gave a short yet clear statement about Koepka’s PGA Tour comeback.

He said, "I’m excited for Brooks. I’m glad that we were able to get him back on Tour. You know, he had a desire to come back on Tour. I’m not sure when it began, but I’m sure in the last few months he’s had a pretty strong desire to be back out here."

The 29-year-old also expressed elation that the PGA Tour authorities had managed to get him back. "I’m glad that Brian and the guys on our board were able to figure out a way for him to get back and start competing out here," said the 29-year-old.

Brooks is the first major player to rejoin the PGA Tour under the new Returning Member Program, which was announced earlier this month. Following his return to the league, the five-time major champion is expected to compete at the Farmers Insurance Open on January 29.

However, Scheffler also has a specific objective behind accepting the 35-year-old's comeback wholeheartedly.

Scheffler's current world ranking speaks volumes about his prowess on the course. However, he realizes that being the best in the world comes with welcoming new challenges and conquering them.

Given Koepka’s five-major-winning career, he can be a tough competitor for Scheffler, now that he is on the Tour. But the 29-year-old wants to meet the challenge head-on, saying that he would "love" to do it.

Scheffler said, "He’s the guy who loves to compete. And I love being able to compete against him, and I’m looking forward to getting to do that a lot more often this year."

Scheffler and Koepka have competed against each other in multiple events, including majors, exhibition events, and the Ryder Cup. It wouldn't be wrong to say that golf fans would be elated to witness their clash in PGA Tour events this year.
