Jacob Bridgeman is off to a hot start on the 2026 PGA Tour. After four straight top-20 finishes, the pro believes he knows the reason why. He points to a major personal milestone that happened just before the season began.

During Thursday’s round 1 at the Genesis Invitational, reflecting on his start to the season, Bridgeman credited his wife as a possible factor behind his recent performances.

He said, “And then I think my good luck charm is I got married on December 19, so I’ve played pretty good since I got married. That could be one.”

Jacob Bridgeman married his longtime partner, Haley Farmer, on December 19, 2025, in Greenville, South Carolina. The two share a connection through Clemson University and are originally from Inman, South Carolina. Prior to their marriage, the couple got engaged on December 14, 2024, in North Carolina after being together for more than four years.

Since then, Farmer has remained present during every career milestone in his career, including his T-14 finish at the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour Championship and his PGA Tour debut at the 2024 Sony Open. And after they got married, the gravy train hasn't stopped for Bridgeman.

As of Feb 20, Bridgeman carded a 5-under 66 in the opening round of the Genesis Invitational, placing him second on the leaderboard behind Aaron Rai.

Moreover, his results have moved him to 52nd in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), marking the highest position of his career. Meanwhile, his performances have also placed him 14th in the FedExCup standings.

While Bridgeman credited his wife as his “good luck charm” behind his early success, he also pointed to his offseason break after qualifying for the Tour Championship as another key factor.

Jacob Bridgeman Explains What Changed After Reaching the Tour Championship

“I think making the Tour Championship, I got an actual offseason for the first time in my pro career, which was amazing. Every year since I’ve turned pro, I’ve been playing all through the fall. Even when I got my card from Korn Ferry, I was playing sponsor exemptions in the fall.”

Bridgeman moved to the professional level following his senior season at Clemson University, where he was named the 2022 ACC Golfer of the Year.

He then finished second in the final PGA Tour University Velocity Global Ranking for the Class of 2022, which earned him exempt status on the Korn Ferry Tour for the remainder of that season.

Following this, he competed on the Korn Ferry Tour from 2022 to 2023. In 2023, he placed 14th in the season-long points standings, which secured his PGA Tour card for the 2024 season.
