Jim Furyk, the 2027 Ryder Cup captain, is not just preparing to lead the United States at the 2027 Ryder Cup. This summer, he will also call two of golf's biggest majors from the broadcast booth, pulling double duty as both a captain-in-waiting and a television analyst.

Furyk has joined USA Sports as an analyst for USA Network's coverage of the U.S. Open and The Open Championship, and for Golf Channel's coverage of the Travelers Championship and the Tour Championship, according to Golfweek and the PGA Tour official website.

NUCLR Golf also highlighted the news on X. His broadcast debut in this role comes at the 126th U.S. Open.

"I'm really excited to join the booth for the U.S. Open, the Open Championship, the Travelers Championship, and the Tour Championship this summer," Furyk said, per Golfweek. "I had a great time calling the Arnold Palmer Invitational and Players Championship on Golf Channel and look forward to building off that experience."

Furyk brings direct experience to both roles. The 2003 U.S. Open champion shot a 58 at the Travelers Championship in 2016, still the lowest round in Tour history, and won the Tour Championship in 2010, per Golfweek.

Earlier this year, he made his debut as a TV golf analyst at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and THE PLAYERS Championship. He also worked as a studio analyst during Golf Channel's Live From the Masters coverage in April, according to Golfweek.

Furyk will lead USA Network's 11-hour U.S. Open coverage on Thursday, June 18, beginning at 6 a.m. ET, according to Golfweek.

Furyk played in nine straight Ryder Cups from 1997 to 2014. He played 34 matches, tied for the third-most by an American player in Ryder Cup history. He has been part of 14 consecutive Ryder Cups for Team USA as a player, vice captain, or captain.

Furyk captained Team USA at the 2018 Ryder Cup in Paris and served as an assistant captain under Keegan Bradley last year, with Europe winning both editions.

The Americans have not won on European soil since 1993, the AP reported. Europe has won 11 of the last 15 Ryder Cups dating back to Oak Hill in 1995, per the AP. Luke Donald returns for a third stint as European captain at Adare Manor in September 2027.

Furyk also captained the U.S. to an 18.5-11.5 victory at the 2024 Presidents Cup at Royal Montreal Golf Club, according to the PGA of America.
