Two Ryder Cup Legends React as Anthony Kim Completes Stunning LIV Comeback

After twelve years away from competitive golf, Anthony Kim completed his comeback with a win at LIV Golf Adelaide 2026. 

The win on Sunday prompted reactions across the golf world, including responses from Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood.

Ian Poulter reacted to the performance, calling attention to the comeback in a post on X. He wrote, “Truly unbelievable round of golf today. That course was on the edge. That round of golf and coming back is so incredible.”

Nearly sixteen years after his last victory in 2010, Anthony Kim shot a bogey-free 9-under 63 to secure a three-stroke win over Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau.

Sharing the emotion, two-time PGA TOUR winner Lee Westwood reacted with a brief message, posting, “Just WOW.”

Reactions from golf professionals were not surprising, as the 40-year-old had earned them through his return. Anthony Kim has spoken about his struggles with addiction, depression, and anxiety in recent years. 

After being away from competitive golf for about 12 years, the American went through personal challenges but continued working toward a return. Kim aimed to compete again and contend for titles on the professional stage.

Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm remained in contention during the final round at LIV Golf Adelaide, trading low scores as they chased the lead. 

However, Anthony Kim closed the gap with steady play and moved ahead of both players to secure the win. Rahm finished second, while DeChambeau ended in a tie for third in the individual standings. 

Despite falling short, both Rahm and DeChambeau acknowledged Kim’s return.

Bryson DeChambeau praised Anthony Kim’s return, emphasizing the significance of his journey. “It's an inspiring story that I think honestly should have a lot more media attention than it does,” said the nine-time PGA Tour winner.

Jon Rahm shared a similar view, saying, “What he's doing is nothing short of remarkable.”

Both players began the final round tied for the lead at 19-under. However, Rahm finished at 20-under after shooting a 71 and earned $2,250,000. 

Meanwhile, DeChambeau posted a 74 to close at 17-under and received $1,100,000.
