Tyrrell Hatton will miss LIV Golf Korea after Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII confirmed a late lineup change, with German golfer Max Rottluff stepping in for just his second LIV Golf start. Hatton's absence is due to a very special reason.

The English golfer pulled out of the tournament to be present for the birth of his child. Legion XIII confirmed the news on Tuesday in a post shared on Instagram, writing: 

“Max Rottluff will be stepping in for Tyrrell Hatton this week in Korea. Tyrrell will return to action next week in Spain!”

After finishing tied for third at the Masters in April, Hatton revealed that his wife Emily was expecting the couple’s first child, with their baby daughter due in May.

“My wife is due in six weeks, and I was thinking about how it would be cool to come back next year, and our little girl will be pretty much 11 months.”

Legion XIII provided no further details beyond confirming the swap and Hatton's expected return for LIV Golf Andalucia next week

Hatton’s 2026 season has remained a regular presence for Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII in the LIV Golf League, with his best result of the season coming at LIV Golf Adelaide, where he finished tied for third.

Before withdrawing from LIV Golf Korea, the Englishman had played every LIV Golf event this year.

Away from LIV Golf, Hatton also produced a strong major performance at the Masters in April. He finished tied for third at 10-under-par, marking his best-ever result in a major championship.

While Hatton will sit out the LIV Golf Korea event, this gives Max Rottluff a chance to step up.

German Reserve Max Rottluff Steps Into Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII Lineup 

German golfer Max Rottluff is making only his second appearance in a LIV Golf event after previously playing at LIV Golf Dallas in 2025, where he finished tied for 37th.

While he is not yet a regular name on the LIV Golf circuit, Rottluff has spent several years competing across different international tours.

Over the course of his professional career, he has played on PGA Tour Canada, the Korn Ferry Tour, the HotelPlanner Tour, the DP World Tour, and the Asian Tour.

The 33-year-old has four professional wins to his name, consisting of two titles on PGA Tour Canada and two on the European Challenge Tour.

This week in Korea, Rottluff joins Jon Rahm, Caleb Surratt, and Tom McKibbin in Legion XIII’s lineup. The team currently sits third in the LIV Golf team standings behind 4Aces GC and Ripper GC.
