Tyrrell Hatton responds to speculation over LIV Golf future

At LIV Golf Indianapolis, LIV Golf’s Tyrrell Hatton walked out to Queen’s “I Want to Break Free.” It looked as if he was all set to leave the breakaway tour. However, the Englishman’s recent comments contradict that notion.
LIV players are exploring exits as funding talks continue. With players actively assessing their future options, Hatton revealed he hasn’t given much thought yet.
“To be honest, I haven’t thought about that,” Hatton said at the Husqvarna British Masters. “I’ve got enough to worry about, we’re playing golf for the rest of the year.”

Hatton’s agreement with the DP World Tour allows him to feature on the European circuit. Following the conclusion of the LIV season, his sole focus is now on the European Tour events.
Despite the multiple reports suggesting that Hatton might be headed out, the two-time LIV winner pointed out that he still has years left on his lucrative contract.
“I still have multiple years on my contract left with LIV,” Hatton told reporters, as reported by Bunkered's Josh Lees. “And as I said, I’ve got plenty of tournaments this year, so there’s nothing really to focus on other than the golf.”
Joining in January 2024, Hatton has earned close to $43 million on the rebel tour. His walkout song did spark exit speculation, but Hatton now dismisses it.
According to the 34-year-old, the walkout song had no intended meaning, and his lacklustre celebrations were done in a hurry.
Moreover, the LIV star expects the breakaway tour to show up next season.
Tyrrell Hatton confident LIV secures funding
Although LIV Golf’s future lacks certainty, Tyrrell Hatton believes the rebel tour will live to see another season.
“I would expect there to be LIV next season,” Hatton said, as per BBC's Iain Carter. “I know they’ve worked really hard to get the funding and stuff in place, so I know it’s full steam ahead on that front.”
Since the PIF withdrew its funding, the league has been actively pitching its “LIV 2.0” model to prospective investors.
The league recently confirmed an unnamed lead investor, but the September 1 deadline is nearing to complete the partnership.
Per multiple reports, a $350 million investment will be enough to keep the league running.
Like Hatton, LIV Golf CEO Scott O’ Neil has also been extremely positive about the rebel tour’s future.
