Tyrrell Hatton sends blunt LIV Golf message with telling song choice

via Usta

Tyrrell Hatton's walk-on song at LIV Golf Indianapolis was enough to get people talking about his future with the league.

The two-time LIV winner chose Queen's famous track, “I Want to Break Free,” as he walked onto the par-3 12th hole, and according to a report from Flushing It, the choice was no accident.

“According to reports from the ground from PJ Clarke and Joseph La Magna, he bragged about it to other players in the locker room that it was intentional,” read Flushing It’s X post.

The song choice is especially notable given the uncertainty surrounding LIV Golf's future. PIF withdrew from the league's planned investment in April, while an alternative investor still needs to be confirmed by the September 1 deadline.

“Multiple well-placed sources have told me they expect Tyrrell Hatton to leave the league after the 2026 season concludes and play a full season on the DP World Tour in 2027,” Flushing It’s X post read.

Hatton joined LIV in 2024, but if those reports prove accurate, Indianapolis could be his final event with the league. The Englishman already has eight DP World Tour wins and could return to the circuit for a full season in 2027.

While Hatton's future with LIV appears increasingly uncertain, Bryson DeChambeau continues to make the case for the league's long-term future.

Tyrrell Hatton’s LIV Future Is Uncertain, DeChambeau Still Believes

Two-time US Open winner Bryson DeChambeau has given his all to ensure LIV Golf’s future. At The Club at Chatham Hills, the American pointed out the immense value of the breakaway tour.

“I hope people can see that we actually bring value to the game of golf, and my wish is that people give us one more shot and be open-minded,” said DeChambeau, as per Bunkered’s John Turnbull.

DeChambeau's argument isn't just about his own role in LIV. He believes the league has other players who can add value to professional golf as well.

“When you look at higher levels of LIV Golf, there are definitely players that would provide value to the tour and guys that I love competing against as well,” added DeChambeau.

DeChambeau has been heavily involved with LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil in the pitching process to prospective investors. But the 32-year-old also understands that the league is facing a race against time.

For now, LIV Golf is facing two very different messages from two of its biggest names. Hatton's “I Want to Break Free” choice has only added to speculation that his time with the league is coming to an end, while DeChambeau is still asking the golf world to give LIV another chance.
