"Want to Go Professional": Kai Trump Reveals Her Future Plans as She Recovers From Wrist Surgery

Just weeks after wrist surgery, Kai Trump has outlined her future in golf.
Less than one month later, on February 1, Trump appeared in a video on her YouTube channel, Kai Trump, where she spoke about her future plans while answering questions alongside her best friend.
Kai underwent surgery on her left wrist on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, following ongoing pain she managed during her LPGA debut at The Annika in November 2025.
Trump said she plans to attend the University of Miami and play college golf. She noted that this will allow her to continue competing while managing her other commitments.

“I am playing golf for a college. Continue my social media content stuff, whatever. And then, really afterwards, I want to go professional. Uh, play professional golf for a while and continue doing my social media stuff," she said.
Kai Trump is committed to the University of Miami as part of the women’s golf recruiting class of 2026. She is scheduled to join the Hurricanes for the 2026–27 season.
In 2025, Kai Trump competed against professional and junior fields across multiple events. Her LPGA debut came at The Annika in November, where she missed the cut after posting rounds of 83 and 75.
Earlier in the year, Trump finished 26th at the Arnold Palmer Junior in July and placed 24th at the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley in March.
In the rankings, Trump is listed at No. 457 in the Rolex AJGA standings and remains outside the top 1,000 in the Universal Junior Golf Ranking.
During the podcast, Trump also spoke about her hope that her best friend enrolls at the same college.

During the conversation, her best friend Emma said she hopes to attend the same college as Kai Trump.
She responded positively to the idea and expressed interest in sharing the college experience, including working together on future projects like a podcast if they end up at the same school.
“I hope so, too. If Emma goes to the same college as me, then we can also do, I want to do like a podcast. I would love to do.”
Her friend Emma also jokingly suggested the podcast be called “The Princess Pod,” with two P’s on a pod.
