Watch: Hilarious No-Look Hole-in-One and Other Must-See Moments From RSM Classic Week

The Drama at the RSM Classic 2025 showed exactly why it’s the grand finale of the PGA Tour. One player lost his PGA Tour card in an unfortunate manner. Meanwhile, a newcomer with little fanfare made history. Four days at Sea Island, and every storyline was more impactful than the previous, but only one went viral.
The moment of the week came when Sam Stevens pulled off one of the funniest and most unexpected aces of the season. Standing 196 yards out on the par-3, Stevens struck a pure iron shot only to turn away instantly, not bothering to watch it land. Seconds later, the crowd erupted.
The ball had dropped straight into the cup, and he didn't even watch it go in. "Didn't get too excited until I got over the bunker and made sure it was in," he said. Even after a Golf Channel camera operator gave him a thumbs-up, Stevens couldn’t relax. He still had to double-check that the ball was really in the cup.
“The hole-in-one he never saw” quickly spread across social feeds, and for good reason. The shot was perfect, the reaction unintentionally hilarious, and the timing ideal as the final round built toward its climax.
Stevens went on to finish T33, but his ace became one of the defining highlights of the tournament. Although this was undoubtedly the most popular highlight, the RSM Classic gave golf fans a lot more to talk about.
The Moments That Defined the 2025 RSM Classic
"I don’t know what to do. I don’t know what to say. I need to figure out how to get better," Justin Lower said while talking in an interview with the PGA Tour. Lower, who was ranked outside the top-100 cutoff, had to have a great week at the RSM Classic just to be able to keep his PGA Tour card for 2026.
What happened, however, was that he recorded 69-68 rounds, missed the cut, and saw his season and status going away. His reaction to the round was very emotional and authentic. He confessed that the time had been ‘frustrating’ and ‘devastating,’ and he was ‘unsure of what comes next.’ While things didn’t work out for Lower, a Finnish player made history.
Sami Välimäki delivered the week’s most composed performance, earning his maiden PGA Tour victory and becoming the first Finnish player ever to win on the PGA Tour. Välimäki posted rounds of 66-62-65-66 (23-under), showcasing consistency, patience, and timely scoring. His final round included birdies at 2, 4, 8, and 10, and a decisive birdie on the par-5 15th, where he reached the green in two and tapped in to secure the advantage. That steady finish held off Max McGreevy and capped one of the smoothest closing stretches of the Fall.
A no-look ace, a career-altering missed cut, and a historic breakthrough: the RSM Classic delivered on every level. As the Fall Series wrapped up, it left fans with a mix of laughter, heartache, and celebration. What are your thoughts about the RSM Classic? Do share your views.
