Sahith Theegala is back at full strength for the PGA Championship. After a 2025 injury forced a withdrawal, the 28-year-old enters Aronimink with four top-10 finishes this spring.

Theegala’s injury caused a significant slide in the world rankings that he has spent this season reversing. He is now a dangerous contender for his first major title.

“Golf is sneaky. There's always something kind of off. So to be in a spot right now where everything feels full go is awesome, so I'm going to play that way for sure,” Theegala said.

Theegala admitted that he has been “operating at a hundred percent” this year. As a result, he is backing himself to win the PGA Championship after the “lost season” of 2025.

Despite his injury struggles, Theegala considered himself very lucky to have remained fit for a long time before last year.

“This kind of rough, it feels like you have a chance. So I can see if you go really hard at one and something feels wrong, that's a problem. Obviously last year I had that happen, just didn't feel -- I didn't have the strength to get out of the rough. I just wasn't operating at a hundred percent,” Theegala added.

Last year, his struggles began at the Truist Championship, resulting in his withdrawal before doing the same at Quail Hollow Club.

He returned at The Open Championship but failed to make the cut at Royal Portrush Golf Club. He also failed to qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs as his season went into a downward spiral following the injury.

However, the 28-year-old looked at this season as a “fresh start.”

Theegala is yet to add to his 2023 Fortinet Championship victory, but the American has put together some solid performances this season.

Theegala’s Run Of Form This Season

Theegala has missed the cut only once this season, at the Valspar Championship.

His best performance came at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, where he finished tied for sixth with a score of 10-under par. Theegala also secured three additional top-10 finishes leading up to this week.

At the Farmers Insurance Open, the American finished tied for seventh, and a week earlier, he secured a T8 finish at The American Express.

At the end of March, he finished tied for 10th at the Texas Children's Houston Open. At Aronimink, Theegala will certainly hope to cross the line and win his first major.
