The 20th edition of the 2026 Solheim Cup is set to take place from September 7-13 and will feature the best from Europe and the United States. Talking of the best, world No. 1 Nelly Korda recently secured a spot in the US team.

The 2024 FM Championship was the start of the qualifying period for the 2026 U.S. Solheim Cup. It is set to conclude at the 2026 CPKC Women’s Open. However, Korda is too far ahead to fall off the U.S Solheim Cup Team standings.

“I am truly excited Nelly is the first to qualify for our team,” said Angela Stanford, U.S Solheim Cup captain. “Nelly’s hard work, demeanor, and competitiveness make her an asset, and I can’t wait to watch her compete for the USA at Bernardus.”

With 2,603 points, Korda sits comfortably at the top of the U.S. Solheim Cup Team standings. She leads 2nd-placed Angel Yin by 1,039.50 points in the world. No 13 has 1,563.50 points, according to LPGA.com.

Since the start of the qualifying period, Korda has secured four LPGA titles, which include a major, the Chevron Championship, which she won this year in April.

With just nine events remaining in the period, Korda has cemented her place at the top. After the winless 2025 season, the three-time major winner was determined to turn things around.

Korda began the season with six consecutive finishes inside the top two. She demonstrated a new level of dominance and has picked up three wins already.

This week, she heads to Riviera Country Club for the U.S. Women’s Open and will certainly look to continue the momentum she has right now.

The World No.1 also has a strong record in the Solheim Cup.

How Has Nelly Korda Performed In The Solheim Cup?

In September, Korda will feature at her fifth Solheim Cup. She holds a 10-5-1 record and will certainly be the one to look out for in the Netherlands.

Korda and Allisen Corpuz form one of the formidable duos of the tournament. The duo is one of three undefeated U.S. partnerships that have played matches together at least four times.

In 2024, Korda registered a 3-1-0 record. She and her partner, Corpuz, won their foursomes matches, and alongside Megan Khang, she secured the fourball match. However, in Sunday singles, she couldn’t cross the line against England’s Charley Hull.

In the U.S. Solheim Cup team, Korda holds the record for the most foursomes matches won, and this September, she will certainly play a pivotal role in the U.S. team.
