Four days after winning the U.S. Open, Wyndham Clark showed up at the Travelers Championship. His fellow pros made sure he knew they noticed.

The PGA Tour posted on X, Wednesday, June 25, a video of Clark being greeted by players on the range at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut.

It was his first Tour event since claiming his second U.S. Open title at Shinnecock Hills on Sunday, June 21.

The reception from peers reflected how Clark's week at Shinnecock played out.

He built a six-shot lead through three rounds, fought off a charging field on Sunday, and held on for the win. What came after the final putt dropped told its own story.

After making the winning putt on the 18th hole, Wyndham Clark went straight to his girlfriend, Emily Tanner to celebrate. According to Golf Channel's Maggie MacKenzie, the moment became one of the most widely shared images of the week.

Then came a surprise. Clark's father, Randall, flew to New York on Sunday morning without telling him. The two shared a long hug on the 18th green after the win. It made the moment even more special because it happened on Father's Day.

Clark spoke to NBC's Mike Tirico after the round and addressed the crowd's energy throughout the final round directly.

"New York didn't really like me, [but] I love you guys," Clark said, per NUCLR GOLF. He added, "Some of it is self-deserved. I did some unfortunate things last year that I really regret. I've been sorry multiple times, and I'm still sorry."

Television microphones caught one more line as Clark moved away from the interview area toward friends. "Let's go! We're drinking tonight!"

Clark became a two-time U.S. Open champion at 31. The victory at Shinnecock drew a response from one of golf's biggest names within days.

Jack Nicklaus Sent Wyndham Clark a Personal Message Praising His U.S. Open Performance

Nicklaus posted a congratulatory message to Clark on Instagram two days after the win.

"Wow, @wyndhamclark! What a @usopengolf win!" Nicklaus wrote. "You did what I always thought was one of the toughest tasks in golf, especially major championship play, and that is to go wire to wire."

He praised Clark's scrambling and short game as the difference-makers. "I have always said that the U.S. Open is a total examination of a golfer's game, and you aced your exam on the short game and scrambling," Nicklaus wrote. "All those par-saves you had, and then that great birdie putt on No. 16. Just fantastic!"

Nicklaus also addressed the Father's Day moment directly. "To see your Dad there to surprise you truly touched my heart," he wrote. "I'm sure it meant the world to you!"

Clark's mother, Lise, passed away from breast cancer in 2013 when he was 19. His father's surprise appearance on Father's Day added a layer to the win that went well beyond the scorecard.
