LIV Golf’s Promotions event has grown into something far more demanding than a standard qualifier. Scheduled for January 8-11, 2026, at Black Diamond Ranch, Florida, it now brings together proven tour winners and rising talents on the same stage. The league officials expect the competition to be unforgiving.
CEO Scott O’Neil claimed the Promotions field is evidence of how the pathway has matured. “The evolution of LIV Golf Promotions reflects our continued commitment to creating truly open and competitive pathways for players from all over the world to compete at the sport’s highest levels,” he explained.
"We’re seeing world-class talent, from decorated former amateurs to experienced professionals, all seizing the opportunity to compete for their place in the League alongside Major Champions, Hall of Famers, and rising stars," added O'Neal, and he's right.
87 players from more than 24 countries will compete, including alumni from the Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup. PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and Asian Tour winners are also part of the roster. Of these 87, 39 have captured an Official World Golf Ranking or World Amateur Golf Ranking event in 2025 alone.

The event is designed as a pathway into the global golf ecosystem, which will reward the top two finishers with coveted rights on the 2026 LIV Golf League. The winner will receive a reward of $200,000, and the runner-up will pocket $150,000. By the end, the players who finish in the top 10 will earn an exemption into the 2026 International Series.
With these lucrative rewards lined up, who should we look out for at the event?
Top names to look out for at the LIV Golf Promotions event
Chris Wood brings a proven pedigree into the week. A member of Europe’s 2016 Ryder Cup side and a three-time European Tour winner, Wood has handled pressure on golf’s biggest stages.
Australia’s Christopher Wood enters with domestic dominance behind him. He’ll share the course with Yuxin Lin, the two-time Asia-Pacific Amateur champion. And how can we forget Alex Levy, a five-time DP World Tour winner?
Besides Woods, Spain’s Pablo Ereno, a former World #6 and 2025 Palmer Cup competitor, will compete. And then comes Miguel Tabuena with sustained international form. After all, the two-time Olympian from the Philippines finished 2025 ranked third on the International Series.
Many players who signed with LIV Golf without a 2026 team commitment will also enter the event. Additionally, golfers who finished the season in the Open Zone (25th–48th), along with those relegated from 49th to 54th, can try to reclaim their status in the league.
Several familiar faces return with something to prove. Ben Campbell, who spent last season with RangeGoats GC and finished 36th in the standings, enters Promotions looking to stabilize his LIV future. Matt Jones, previously part of Ripper GC, faces similar stakes after closing the year in 40th and now taking on the full 72-hole event.
Anthony Kim will also look for redemption as the former World #6 finished in the 55th position last season. So with contracts and careers on the line, LIV Golf Promotions is shaping up to be quite an exciting contest.
