Anthony Kim Aligns With Golf’s Most Controversial Brand in Bold Business Move

Feb 26, 2026, 4:16 AM CUT

Anthony Kim has added another unconventional chapter to his comeback story. And this time, it’s all about business.

After winning at Adelaide and finishing at T22 in Riyadh, Kim joined hands with Malbon Golf as a partner and investor. This means he’ll appear in Malbon Golf’s apparel whenever he isn’t wearing the 4Aces GC uniform.

Talking about the new partnership, Kim stated, “This partnership with Malbon feels right because, just like me, it’s not for everyone. And that’s okay. We ride with the ones who choose to be different.”

Malbon Golf came into the limelight as a ‘different’ apparel brand since Jason Day wore the products in the early-season PGA Tour events in 2024. While the fabric and comfort are high, Malbon Golf products tend to lean on modern designs. This makes them stand out in a community that opts for classical apparel.

And Kim has already begun his duties as a partner by donning a T-shirt from Malbon Golf’s new collection. But did you know that it was a pair of Malbon Golf socks that led to this partnership?

Malbon Golf’s Founder Reveals the Story of His Partnership With Anthony Kim

Talking to SBJ, Stephen Malbon, the founder of Malbon Golf, stated, “He said they were kind of questioning [the Malbon-branded socks], and he said that he told him he was really comfortable in these specific socks. And then he won and made his entire team $500,000 each because he played so well. So he said, ‘Believe me, they’re not going to have any concern with my socks anymore.’”

Yes, Anthony Kim wore Malbon socks and Footjoy shoes during his big win at Adelaide. The 40-year-old initially asked for cash to represent the company during practice rounds and non-LIV Golf events. But following his win in Australia, he changed his mind.

“He won last week and got some big checks out of that and said, ‘I don’t want any cash, give me all equity.’ So he’s now a partner in the company.”

Kim’s confidence in the brand signals Malbon Golf’s growth. With the deal, he reinforced golf’s shift toward individuality and athlete ownership.
