Anthony Kim’s Life Off the Course, Wife Emily and Daughter Bella in the Spotlight

Feb 16, 2026, 4:30 AM CUT

Anthony Kim re-established himself as a force to be reckoned with by winning at Adelaide with a 23-under, leaving Jon Rahm in second place. But the win carried a lot more significance than it seemed at first.

It was Kim’s first victory in 16 years as he maintained sobriety for his third consecutive year. And the credit went to the support his wife, Emily Kim, and their daughter, Bella, provided. His family was the reason the 40-year-old was able to “turn his life around.” But how?

Emily asked Kim to teach her golf. And that reignited his love for the game as the couple played casual rounds two to four times a week. In due time, Kim noticed that his skills were still good enough to let him compete again.

His wife later kept the emphasis on the opportunity to set an example for little Bella. And that moved Anthony Kim.

He made a comeback to golf after a 12-year hiatus and joined LIV Golf two years ago. And winning at Adelaide acted as the perfect example for Bella to look up to.

In June 2025, she shared a birthday reel on social media, which pushed Anthony Kim to make a heartfelt statement.

The golfer wrote, “Hated birthdays but over 2yrs sober w my love Bella & Emily & I am finally clear enuf 2 have purpose. Thank u god, sobriety & every1 that supports us. SOBER is DOPE."

But there was a stronger message that he had for his daughter following his big win.

Anthony Kim Sends a Powerful Message for His Daughter

After claiming the win at Adelaide, Kim confessed that he had no purpose in life before Bella’s birth. He had a lot of money in his accounts and had witnessed success early in his career.

However, he still felt lonely, as if the “world is against” him. But that was just in his mind. After all, Kim had a lot of people rooting for him, and Adelaide was proof of that.

With his daughter in his mind, Kim stated, “But I just want her to know that no matter how bad your day is, if you keep fighting, you never lose.”

Even though little Bella doesn’t understand the true meaning of Kim’s win at the moment, the 40-year-old felt lucky and proud to be able to share his latest success with her. And with his wife’s constant support, he might win a few more events in the near future.
