Brandt Snedeker Confesses He's "So Mad" at Tiger Woods Over Unreal Left-Handed Escape

Brand Snedeker is still amazed by Tiger Woods' legendary escape from the bushes at the 2019 WGC-Dell Match Play. He is still stunned by it, today, years later.
Woods was in a dire situation, with a drive far off the fairway and deep in the bushes. "I am still so mad at him for this," said Snedeker, as he recalled the moment Woods decided to take a left-handed shot from his knees.
Woods had no standard right-handed swing option for him. He could not physically take a standard right-handed swing, so he had to do something else. He could either concede the hole or take a left-handed swing from his knees and do it upside down.
He did do it, and the shot was so good that it went towards the hole. The commentators and other fans got to witness the precision and the miracle of the shot. And Snedeker watched from the fairway and could only marvel.
Chasing the Ghost of Tiger's Versatility
Snedeker's irritation is understandable, given Woods' bailing out potential double-bogeys with miraculously positive results and breaking the will of the tournament leaders.
This was no mere fortunate circumstance, but a demonstration of skill he had practiced, and it illustrated that his commitment to the sport was of a higher level than most.
The 'madness' that Snedeker refers to is actually a deep level of respect and recognition for the fact that Tiger could play the best in the world with his other hand.
The legacy Woods leaves for the modern player is both positive and creative, expanding the boundaries of what players see as possible.
As the PGA Tour moves forward, the professional stories of the likes of Snedeker ensure that the great magnitude of Tiger's prime will serve as a standard for generations to come.
