Bryson DeChambeau and LA GOLF Part Ways After Ownership Stake Dispute

Feb 25, 2026, 5:33 AM CUT

Bryson DeChambeau has been playing and testing products by LA GOLF for quite some time. But their partnership has now come to an end.

DeChambeau’s agent and senior vice president of GSE Worldwide, Brett Falkoff, announced, “Bryson is no longer an ambassador for LA GOLF. He remains a customer and still has the shafts in his bag.”

He won the U.S. Open in 2024 with 14 LA GOLF shafts in his bag. And last year, he got himself 14 club heads from the brand. He even had ownership of two percent of the equity. But the founder of the company, Reed Dickens, stepped back when DeChambeau asked for significantly more ownership.

Dickens stated, “He has this new consultant, a McKinsey-consulting type guy, and this guy says to me that Bryson is gonna walk unless he gets 51 percent. Bryson’s got two percent of the company. And I think the guy doesn’t realize that he’s dealing with a redneck.”

“And I say, ‘There’s no path for that.’ They played chicken with me, and now we’re going to graciously part ways.”

Nevertheless, he had nothing but respect for the two-time major champion. However, the company had a bittersweet relationship with the golfer.

Another Reason Why LA GOLF Parted Ways With Bryson DeChambeau

“Bryson needs someone serving him 24 hours a day. He needs somebody to build him his own clubs, and that’s not scalable for us,” Dickens revealed.

LA GOLF is a small artisanal manufacturing business. And shifting the majority focus on a single customer was simply not feasible. On top of that, LA GOLF previously had 75 employees, but now only about 50 remain. The company is shifting focus to become a premium wholesaler, making exclusive direct-to-the-golfer products in the USA.

But Dickens did agree that DeChambeau was an integral part of the R&D project. Dickens admitted, “He challenges everything you do, and he makes you test your every assumption.”

As of now, both sides will move forward independently while maintaining mutual respect and the customer relationships.

But will this separation affect Bryson DeChambeau in his upcoming events? Tell us in the comments!
