Charley Hull Responds With a Bold, No-Nonsense Statement to New Milestone

Earlier this month, Charley Hull won the PIF Saudi Ladies International with a margin of one stroke. And that Ladies European Tour win got her up to the third spot in the Rolex Rankings.
Hull has a bold statement regarding her new rank. During the HSBC Women’s World Championship press conference, Annika Mayers highlighted that Hull’s rank is the “highest ranking for a British woman ever.”
How does the Englishwoman feel about it, and is she going to strive for a higher ranking? Reflecting on her Rolex Ranking position, Hull said, “It's pretty cool. Obviously, my goal since I was always to be world number one.”
Despite her visible pride in her achievement, Hull claimed, “I'm not really one to stare at rankings and stuff because it shifts all the time. I just look at it, think it's pretty cool, carry on, and crack on play golf.”
She has won three LPGA Tour events and five LET events. And her last win marked her eighth consecutive top-20 finish. No wonder she moved 17 spots to become the third-best female golfer in the world.
But right now, the 29-year-old’s focus lies elsewhere.
Charley Hull Announces Her Goal
“I always like really want to win a major,” Hull stated ahead of the 2026 HSBC Women’s World Championship. “That’s my goal. Obviously had quite a lot of second-place finishes in majors.”
In 2016, Charley Hull finished second at the Chevron Championship. Two years later, at the Women’s PGA Championship, she finished sixth.
Her 2022 Evian Championship stance ended with a T3 finish. Additionally, she became the runner-up once at the U.S. Open (2023) and twice at the Women’s British Open (2023 and 2025).
“I’ll get there,” she affirmed with confidence. “Just carry on enjoying and not put too much pressure on myself. It’s just a game at the end of the day.“
And a major championship win would certainly get her closer to Nelly Korda (world number two) in the Rolex Rankings. After all, Hull is only 32.35 points behind Korda.
But first, let’s see how Hull performs at the 2026 HSBC Women’s World Championship.
