Dustin Johnson is responding calmly to reports that the Saudi Public Investment Fund plans to withdraw from LIV Golf in 2026. The 4Aces GC captain offered a blunt response during a press conference in Korea.
Players competing in the breakaway tour have been subjected to media inquiries, and they arose again ahead of LIV Golf Korea at Asiad Country Club in the press conference. Johnson offered a three-word response to the press.
"Long LIV Golf."
The cold remark instantly silenced the media center, perfectly showcasing Johnson's trademark nonchalance. He completely refused to entertain panic, shutting down further corporate funding speculation with ease.
Interestingly, Johnson displayed the same kind of levelheadedness during the previous media exposure he underwent at the highly anticipated 2026 PGA Championship when asked about the possibility of career moves should the league dissolve itself.
When reporters aggressively pressed him there about his upcoming career moves if the circuit folds, he matter-of-factly brushed it off
"I have no f****** idea right now."
He further underscored his completely relaxed approach toward the unfolding crisis.
"I think your guess is as good as mine on what happens at the end of this year."
As Johnson shrugged off the looming storm, his colleagues found it impossible to match his level of calm.
Other LIV Golfers Reacted with Disbelief to Halted Funding
In contrast to Dustin Johnson, who appears completely indifferent to the impending financial uncertainty, other major LIV Golf stars initially exhibited a sense of shock.
The news of losing financial backing forced many stars to immediately reconsider their professional futures.
Crushers GC captain Bryson DeChambeau was among the loudest critics in response to the late April revelation that epitomized widespread shock and confusion at LIV Golf.
Expressing his absolute astonishment, Bryson voiced his shock.
"There's no way. That's frickin' impossible, considering what I'd heard a couple months earlier. I thought there was a plan through 2032. It was a flip of the switch."
As someone who had faith in the Saudi Arabia agreement, which guaranteed steady support until nearly another decade, DeChambeau was rightfully surprised.
Joaquin Niemann, the Torque GC's captain, chose a calmer stance.
"It is what it is. I guess we have got to get a new business plan. I think Scott and his team is going to do a great job doing that."
Regardless of Johnson's indifference, the countdown for the LIV funding is truly underway.
