Famous Pro Golfer Comes Out of Retirement to Play in Tiger Woods’ League

As Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s Tomorrow’s Golf League touched its second season, the team announced a similar simulated indoor golf league (WTGL) for women in the sport. And now, Michelle Wie West has come out of retirement to join the seven other players entering the league.
Announcing the move through a press release, Wie West said, “As an investor in Los Angeles Golf Club and a fan of TGL, I’m excited for the chance to compete again through WTGL, which will be a powerful platform for women’s golf.”
She expressed her passion for growing the sport. And TGL is doing just that. With new tech-infused formats, Woods and McIlroy brought golf to a broader audience.
Wie West continued, "The team aspect, matched with the unique environment at SoFi Center, is something I want to be part of. And it’s going to be incredibly fun to challenge myself, this time alongside teammates, to compete against the best in the world.”
West has already established a strong stance in golf by winning five LPGA Tour events, including the 2014 U.S. Women’s Open, hosting the Mizuho Americas Open, and representing the USA in the 2004 Curtis Cup and the 2018 Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown. She was also a US Solheim Cup team member on five occasions.
But who are the other committed players entering WTGL in winter 2026-27?
Who Else Will Play in Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s Women’s League?
The world number one, Jeeno Thitikul, was among the first five names to commit to WTGL. With seven LPGA Tour wins, including concurrent wins at the CME Group Tour Championship, and winning five awards on the tour, Thitikul brings strong competition to the league.
Three-time LPGA Tour winner and two-time Olympian Charley Hull was the next name on the roster. Joining her was Lydia Ko, a Hall of Famer and a former world number one. Ko has won 23 LPGA Tour events, including three majors, and has won three Olympic medals.
Wie West will also get to share the course with Brooke Henderson, the 14-time LPGA Tour champion (including two major tournaments) and three-time Olympian. She even received the ESPY Award for Best Female Golfer in 2019. The two-time Olympian and 11-time LPGA Tour winner, Lexi Thompson, was the last name on the list.
Later, Rose Zhang and Lottie Woad joined the roster. With the addition of Michelle Wie West, the anticipation has gone quite high.
