Wyndham Clark's comments about Brooks Koepka’s return to the PGA Tour caused quite a stir in the golfing community, and while many criticized Clark's take, the former PGA Tour pro Colt Knost stood in his defense.

Clark expressed his frustration over the minimal penalty for Koepka upon his return from LIV Golf during his appearance on SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio. However, some fans saw Clark’s words as a jibe at Koepka and started bashing him. 

One such fan on X stated, "Here is what I don’t understand about a guy like Wyndham coming out & ripping Brooks…IF it wasn’t for Liv & plyrs like Brooks defecting the PGAT would have conducted biz as usual and kept the money they now distribute to plyrs like Clark." 

"So Clark got MORE $$ in his pocket bc of Liv/Brooks yet he ONLY focuses on what he didn’t get?  I’ve had enough of these entitled PGAT plyrs whine about Liv plyrs."  

However, Knost refuted the fan's observation, replying, "Listen to the whole interview. He did not rip Brooks! He complimented him."

Knost's interference had the expected outcome. The fan returned after listening to the entire interview and agreed with the former PGA Tour contender. However, he still had some doubts. 

Why Is Wyndham Clark Frustrated?

Despite Knost's clarification about Clark's opinion on Koepka’s return to the PGA Tour, there's no way to deny that the 32-year-old was indeed "frustrated" about it.

During his above-discussed SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio appearance, Clark said, "As a guy who had an opportunity to go to LIV, it’s kind of frustrating that he’s [Koepka is] able to get the cake and also eat it." 

He also mentioned, "I don’t know, I’m very torn because at the end of the day, I want whatever’s best for the PGA Tour, and I think if guys come back, especially top players like Brooks, it’s only going to help the Tour, which is ultimately going to help me." 

But his frustration seems to stem from a missed opportunity. Clark believes that if the other PGA Tour players knew they could earn a "boatload of money" at LIV Golf and return to the PGA Tour later, "everyone would have done that." 

Nevertheless, he did admit that having Koepka under the PGA Tour’s roster is only going to raise the stakes and money at the tour.
