YouTube personalities Grant Horvat and the Bryan Brothers have shaken up the digital sports arena by announcing "Your Golf Tour" (YGT). This partnership will span multiple years and is pitched as a first-of-its-kind, high-stakes digital sport endeavor.

YGT will have 16 popular golf content creators participate in 4 major tournaments. To end the season, YGT will host a stroke-play championship at the Wynn in Las Vegas with a grand prize of 1 million dollars.

"For years, we imagined building a tour, but it felt out of reach.
We're grateful for how much innovation has happened in Golf recently," the official March 25 announcement read.

"Our vision is to create a structure for top players to perform under real pressure with significant stakes while remaining authentic to the YouTube format," they added.

Rumors of a roster that includes Michael Block, Garrett Clark, and Mac Boucher have just poured fuel on the fire. However, the ambitious move from casual 'challenge' videos to a formal professional tour has immediately divided the community.

Fans Brutally Roast the New Tour Announcement

"This is dumb. This is like the captains of my club low ball forming a tour. I play with 3 guys every weekend that can beat Grant and Block," one fan wrote on X.

Meanwhile, one user even objected to the inclusion of Michael Block. One of the users remarked, "Won't watch because that c**** piece of dirt Block is on there," and another one just wrote, "Michael Block... Give me a break."

Regarding the level of competition, some fans discussed the divide between professionals and creators. "Gotta imagine they need to include handicaps, right?" asked one user. "Guys who play/played professional golf... competing against the likes of Fat Perez, Garrett Clark, Grant Horvat?" wrote another.

However, the official announcement didn't give any details about who will feature in the tour's roster just yet. The final image of the social media announcement read: "full roster announcement soon."

Some opted for comedy to convey their disinterest in the new format. One fan quipped, "I'd rather watch Dr. James Naismith weave a peach basket," while another aimed at the three, wishing the new venture "bankrupts all 3 of them."

However, a handful of users recognized that the new format could help YGT change the golf media landscape. One supporter stated, "You can hate all day long, but it will have exponentially more viewers than @livgolf_league and at exponentially less cost."
