The American golf player, Cheyenne Knight, has reached another stage in her life journey that goes beyond the golf arena. The change marks a new perspective in Knight's professional career on the LPGA Tour.

Ahead of the 2026 ShopRite LPGA, an elite tournament raising over $40 million for charities, Knight shared what it means to be a mother and how it affects her perception of professional golf.

"It's been the greatest gift to become a mom," Knight revealed while discussing her altered outlook on tour life. Parenthood changed how she views the daily sacrifices made by other mothers on the tour.

"I just think about Aza and talking a little bit earlier, just see the moms on Tour, I just have such a greater respect of how they do it. I'm not even playing this week and Cooper stayed back at home."

The candid revelation came during a pre-tournament press conference at the Seaview Hotel & Golf Club's Bay Course. Knight is attending the event to support her partners, even though she is not among the 144-player field competing on the course this week.

The grueling LPGA schedule requires constant international travel. The ability to balance competing with parenthood requires careful planning on Knight's part before her planned return to play in 2027.

Cheyenne Knight thanked the corporate sponsor, ShopRite, for continuing its financial assistance during her maternity leave. This specific corporate backing allowed her to focus on family while fulfilling non-playing duties at the 2026 event.

Tour Moms Emphasize the Reality of Juggling Parenthood

For Azahara Muñoz, who became a mother in February 2022 and is in her fifteenth season as a seasoned competitor on the LPGA Tour since turning pro in 2010, the dual role poses similar challenges. Indeed, the golfer admitted that even though she loves the way things are, life in such an arena is extremely challenging.

"Things are not what they used to be, but I love it," Muñoz admitted when detailing the balancing act. She explained that having a dedicated daycare system on-site is what truly allows her to remain competitive while protecting her status and over $7 million in official career earnings.

Shared experiences in motherhood have created a new bond between the international competitors. Seeing others succeed in coping with the stressful atmosphere of the tournament, Knight gets inspired to plan for the future.

In the future, Knight has expressed keen interest in taking her toddler with her when competing in tournaments. "I'm super excited to play next year with him along," she stated, ready to rejoin the active ranks.
