Greg Norman Reacts to PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp's Latest Admission About LIV Golf

Greg Norman finds himself at an unprecedented level of harmony, able to claim some form of alignment with the PGA Tour's leadership, suggesting there might be an end to the struggles that have marred the sport recently.
The "Great White Shark" reacted to a confession by PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp, who stated LIV Golf has forced the Tour to innovate. This move marks a departure from its previous defensive stance.
Reflecting on this trend, Norman felt vindicated in his belief about the impact of his league on the PGA Tour. "I went hallelujah, hallelujah, finally," said Norman, appreciating Rolapp's perspective on Dan on Golf.
"Because Brian was an outsider coming into the world of golf,
she had a different prism to look through. He had from a sports point of view, he looked from a fans point of view, he looked at from an innovation standpoint," he added.

During the phone interview with Dan Rapaport, Norman explained that Rolapp is looking to bridge the gap between the Tour and the players. "Have the players say more... That's what we did with LIV," Norman explained.
As a former CEO, Norman believes that the current success of players like Bryson DeChambeau was possible thanks to the intellectual property freedom promoted by LIV. However, Norman is cautious about LIV's future as well.
Greg Norman and what LIV Golf's CEO should do
For the past week, LIV Golf CEO Scott O'Neil has assured that the rumours about the Saudi Public Investment Fund cutting funding are baseless.
However, O'Neil also explained that while they are funded through the 2026 season, the league will have to work hard to generate more business. Greg Norman believes the future now depends on what O'Neil does.
"I read his comments on we've got to go raise money ourselves, LIV has to do that. Basically, he's got to get out there on the street now, and he's got to do a roadshow and he's got to see if he can dilute some of the PIF funding down to somewhere else," said Norman.
"Getting a US financial institution coming in would be very advantageous, no different to what's happened with SSG and the PGA Tour. Very, very advantageous for him," he added.
As the two entities navigate their own challenges, Norman hopes the newfound transparency will lead to future cooperation on the game.
