The 2025 season didn't prove to be overwhelmingly eventful for Dustin Johnson, but the 41-year-old still feels that he can stand with the who's who in the sport.
After signing a multi-year extension with the 4Aces GC, the two-time major champion helped the team secure the fifth position by the end of 2025. However, he failed to claim a single individual victory. But has that put a dent in his motivation? Not at all.
Talking to Mirror US Sports, the 4Aces captain claimed, "I’m still motivated... I still consider myself one of the best players in the world. And I know I still have the skill set and the game to compete with anyone at any time."

But confidence comes with an understanding of one’s flaws. And for Johnson, that’s his still-improving driving skills.
The former world number one reflected, "Over the last, almost, it’s been about a year and a half now, I’ve been struggling with the driver other than."
The 41-year-old posted a minimal SG off the tee (0.019) in the last season. And he had a driving distance of 315.7 yards. But his motivations for the upcoming season are high.
“I started to drive it a lot better towards the latter half of the year. And then, coming into this year, I feel a lot more confident in the drive and in my game.”
But there’s one more factor that has boosted his motivation.
Dustin Johnson Takes Aim at 2026 Season With His Team
Not too long ago, the 4Aces GC signed Thomas Detry to the team. In addition to the 33-year-old star and the captain, the roster now has Patrick Reed and Thomas Pieters as well.
Weighing in on the roster, Johnson said, "This team is built for big moments, and 2026 is a chance for us to take another step forward.”
“Thomas Detry is a great addition; he’s confident, competitive, and that fits exactly what we’re about. We’ve got the talent, the chemistry, and the mindset to be right there all season.”
Johnson enters 2026 with renewed confidence in his game and belief in his team. But do you think he will be able to manage an individual or a team victory this season?
