Changing course conditions often force golfers to adjust their equipment, but for Jon Rahm, consistency is king. The LIV Golf star recently explained his minimalist approach, revealing why he rarely makes changes during a tournament week.

When asked about the impact of the grass at LIV Golf South Africa on his club selection during the pre-tournament presser, Rahm said, “I don't like to change, especially tournament week."

Rahm clarified he doesn’t really change his equipment unless there are some new clubs on Callaway’s roster. Even then, the changes are minimal.

"The only change I have in the bag is either play five or two iron. That's it. I don't change my wedges. I don't change anything," he added at the March 17 conference.

“I feel like thinking about having to change clubs is more complicated for me than having to adjust whatever I'm going to do myself technique-wise on the golf course,” Rahm continued.

He explained that the ball "sits up so high" on the fairways at LIV Golf South Africa, and using the right iron can make a difference.

Rahm revealed that as long as the player is aware of these slight changes, they don't need to make massive changes, especially during tournament week.

What Does Jon Rahm Usually Carry in His Golf Bag?

Here’s what he carried at LIV Golf Hong Kong:

  1. Driver: Callaway Quantum Triple Diamond Driver with 11.6° loft and Fujikura Ventus Black 7x shaft
  2. 3-Wood: Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond with 16° loft and Graphite Design Tour AD DI 8x shaft

The 31-year-old is expected to carry the same equipment into Steyn City.
