Charley Hull has been one of the biggest advocates in the conversation around ADHD.

After missing out on winning the 2023 US Women’s Open by just three shots, Hull broke down her struggles in a conversation with BBC Look East.

"I know my triggers now because I've been diagnosed with ADHD, quite severely. I can understand now why sometimes I get bored on the golf course.”

As per Hull, in team settings, her ADHD becomes a bit more difficult to manage, as she cannot stick by her schedule. However, that hasn't kept her from performing well, including making 7 consecutive Solheim Cups for Team Europe.

"It's the way I think. [It's about] keeping my mind busy and being a bit more patient because I can be very impatient. I find it hard to concentrate, but I've found my triggers now, and looking at the views of the ocean last week was pretty good.”

How is Charley Hull Managing her ADHD?

“I just worked on my swing a bit and got my confidence back, and I feel like I'm swinging it well now,” Charley Hull mentioned.

ADHD caused quite a few problems for Hull. She struggles in team environments, having to adapt to others’ schedules. And to prevent her ADHD from affecting her, she kept a tight schedule. That also had a few things that she loves doing.

Not too long ago, Charley Hull talked to the LPGA regarding her condition. She revealed, “I don’t suffer mentally on the golf course. I enjoy being out there. But the stuff that I struggle with away from the golf course can make me feel down in my day-to-day life with my ADHD and stuff.”
