A major American women's golf tour just received world-class recognition. With the Rolex World Golf Rankings adding the tour to its official schedule, Hall of Famer Annika Sorenstam gave her opinion on the tour's inclusion.
"I'm glad they recognized the quality of that tour and what they're doing," Sorentam said after learning that WGR will add the ANNIKA Women’s All Pro Tour to its 2026 schedule.
She shouted out WAPT President Gary DeSerrano and his team's efforts while speaking to Golfweek about the event's inclusion. "As you know, it's been elevated the last few years, and we're super proud to be part of it. ..." she told the publication.
Under DeSerrano’s direction, the American tour has expanded its schedule, strengthened fields, and positioned itself as a legitimate bridge for amateurs gunning for the LPGA.

Ranking points will now be available through ANNIKA WAPT's inclusion means competitors will earn ranking points. This opens additional routes toward higher levels of professional competition, and that's something Sorenstam is happy about.
"Good for them, another way for them to have a pathway to their dreams, really," Annika Sorenstam added during the conversation.
Annika Sorenstam’s Ties to the Women’s All Pro Tour Run Deep
The connection became more visible in early 2024, when the tour formally adopted the name, ANNIKA Women’s All Pro Tour. However, the announcement came in July 2023.
It was a direct tribute to Sorenstam’s legacy and contributions to golf and the partnership aimed to add both credibility and visibility to the tour.
"By joining forces with the WAPT, we have a unique opportunity to further solidify an incredibly important platform that has already advanced the professional playing careers of so many talented players," Sorenstam had said.
After two seasons, that alignment has contributed to its inclusion within the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.
