Charley Hull embarks on the season's first major, the Chevron Championship, as the No.4 player. But there lies a physical challenge ahead of her, one that has significantly affected her preparation. As fans miss her workout videos, Hull shared an update.

In August 2025, she suffered a torn ligament in her ankle. It happened when Hull tripped over a curb in the parking lot at the PIF London Championship on the Ladies European Tour.

"Just all depends how my injury is," Hull shared when asked about when she will be cleared to hit back the gym and resume running. "I was going to be clear a few weeks ago, but I'm not."

So, at the moment, Hull is focusing on her rehab. However, it's not easy since she has to constantly travel. Eight months away from working out in the gym has weakened the player's performance, especially in ball speed and club speed.

"It's like a battle I can never win," Hull explained the challenges posed by traveling to tournaments across the globe.

Long flights back to the UK often interfere with her physical and fitness development during the season. All these challenges lead to a lot of anxiety.

But Hull found a new way to distract herself. She is building a new house in England. This helps her relax physically and mentally as she cannot engage in running or lifting exercises.

Charley Hull Adjusts Strategy Amid Physical Limits

Hull made use of her own home to refine her skills and keep herself engaged with the game. She plays in high-pressure games at her home club. During the intense games, she enjoys the company of her close friend and European Tour alumnus, Ryan Evans.

The duo's friendly matches are already popular on social media. Last year, a video went viral where Evans dropped a lighthearted caption, “Birdies the last and beats me 1up. #annoying @charley.hull.”

In a follow-up story, he posted a clip of Hull draining the winning putt, and as the ball dropped, he was heard saying, “I hate you.”

Having a competitor like Evans helps Hull to take part in high-pressure games. Hull recalled one particular match where she surged to 8-under-par through nine holes. But she was met with a strong comeback from Evans.

Hull has had four runner-up finishes in majors, including one at the Chevron Championship a decade ago. Currently ranked No. 4 in the world, she has notched one top-10 finish in four starts this season, which came at the HSBC Women's World Championship.

It's time to see how Hull treads in the Chevron Championship that starts on April 23, at the City of Houston’s renowned Memorial Park Golf Course in Texas.
