After leaving LIV Golf in 2024, Eugenio Chacarra had to serve a one-year suspension from the PGA Tour. But in the meantime, he competed under the banner of the DP World Tour, where he earned his status by winning the Hero Indian Open back in March 2025. Now, as he gets ready to chase the tickets for the upcoming season, the Spaniard has set his priorities straight.
“When I’m healthy, and I’m happy, and I’m working hard, I’m one of the best players in the world. I was one of the best players in college. I was one of the best players as an amateur, and my goal now is to become one of the best players in the world on the professional side,” Chacarra announced.
Right now, he ranks at the 123rd spot in the Official World Golf Ranking. Coincidentally, that’s also his best rank in the list. However, Eugenio Chacarra has claimed that the ranking is misleading.
“I’m still trying to move up,” Chacarra told Today’s Golfer. “But I think I have everything I need to be the No.1 player in the world.”
With Scottie Scheffler, the current world No. 1, in his crosshairs, the Spaniard revealed his excitement for the grind to get better. “Good golf will take care of everything,” he admitted.

“I know that if I do the right things, I have the capacity to be one of the best players in the world. I’ll want to be in the Ryder Cup, contending for majors, and at least in the top 20 in the world. I know I’ve got a way to go, but I’m only 25 years old, and I know what I’m capable of.”
And the dream of rising to the top is one of the reasons why Chacarra is chasing a return to the PGA Tour.
Eugenio Chacarra Highlights the Importance of PGA Tour Wins
The 25-year-old golfer was pretty upset with LIV Golf when his three-year contract with the tour expired, and Sergio Garcia’s Fireballs team didn’t retain him. He was frustrated with how things turned out for him. And as he took an exit from the Saudi-backed promotion, he highlighted the perks of being a PGA Tour player.
“I see what it’s like to win on the PGA Tour and how your life changes,” he said. “How you get major access and ranking points. On LIV, nothing changes; there is only money."
"It doesn’t matter if you finish 30th or first, only money. I’m not a guy who wants more money. What will change my life is playing in Hawaii and qualifying for the majors, qualifying for the Masters, the Ryder Cup.”
For Chacarra, the path forward is clear. A return to the PGA Tour represents opportunity, legacy, and a chance to compete at golf’s highest level. It can also help him rise to the top of the Official World Golf Ranking.
