Jack Nicklaus Headlines Amazon Prime's New Masters Coverage Debut

Mar 31, 2026, 11:30 AM CUT

A Masters tradition is getting a modern twist. For the first time, Augusta National will stream the tournament on Amazon Prime, and Jack Nicklaus' involvement has made it even more special.

The "Golden Bear" is entering the booth for the exclusive live-stream on Amazon Prime. Starting this week, Jack Nicklaus will be an analyst.

The Amazon partnership with the Masters has been the most anticipated announcement in the golfing world. Because live coverage of the Masters has been limited until now, this is expected to become the most-watched in the tournament's history.

The tech giant secured deals to enable offering a two-hour daily window starting at 1:00 p.m. ET. Amazon's goal in signing Nicklaus is to provide deep, historical insight during these pivotal opening hours that only a 6-time champion can offer.

Terry Gannon will head the broadcast team from the legendary Butler Cabin. He will be joined by Geoff Ogilvy and Justin Kutcher, who will bring championship insight and professional broadcasting to the Prime audience.

Additionally, the streaming service will feature "Inside Amen Corner" for holes 11, 12, and 13. The service will use cutting-edge ball-tracking technology to provide a detailed view of how the leaders handle arguably the top 3 most difficult holes.

Echoes of 1986 at Augusta

The 2026 Masters will also celebrate 40 years since Jack Nicklaus's incredible sixth victory. Many fans remember his legendary back-nine charge at 46 in 1986, when he became the tournament's oldest champion.

Nicklaus is not the only legend modernizing their voice. Fellow great Tom Watson is also expected to make an appearance, continuing the trend of the "Big Three" era stars being very present in the club's changes.

Like other major sports leagues, Augusta National is shifting to Amazon to target a younger audience. While Augusta is known to be very protective of its brand, Chairman Fred Ridley stated that this partnership will help expand its reach to a younger audience.

Given that the tournament begins next week, Nicklaus's presence adds a touch of tradition to the digital broadcast. For the first time, fans will be able to hear the greatest of all time, offering an analysis of the contemporary game in real time.
