Jeeno Thitikul has provided an insightful view of the factors behind World No. 1 Nelly Korda's dominance on the greens. She highlighted how the American golfer manages her energy during tournament weeks.

According to the Thai player, one important factor behind Korda's dominance is her unique approach to preparing for competitions. As Thitikul noted, the secret is knowing when to step away from the course.

"If you put too much work and then you not let your body like rest and relax, especially tournament week, it's gonna be a disadvantage more than an advantage," Thitikul explained.

The insight emerged during a pre-tournament press conference ahead of the prestigious U.S. Women's Open. Golfweek's Beth Ann Nichols highlighted how Thitikul has been closely observing Korda's unique on-site habits.

According to Thitikul, Nelly Korda minimizes the workload on tournament days; she avoids spending lots of time grinding and practicing.

"I don't really saw her practice that much on the tournament, like in the tournament day or in the tournament week," Thitikul noted while analyzing the top player's routine.

This specific approach to preparation seems to have given Korda a definite edge when competing in some of the best golf championships.

Thitikul Chasing Major Glory Amid Korda's Dominance

Thitikul's quest for a first major title continues. Her struggle was evident at The Chevron Championship, the season's first major, where she missed the cut after rounds of 74 and 73.

On the contrary, Korda claimed the championship title in the same competition. The world No. 1 produced an excellent performance, registering scores of 65, 65, 70, and 70 and finishing the tournament at 18-under par.

Thanks to this historic major championship victory, Korda regained the world No. 1 spot, surpassing her Thai rival, who had held the top spot for 9 months, starting in August last year.

Nonetheless, Thitikul has experienced a truly brilliant and very rewarding season as well, earning an outstanding win in Honda LPGA Thailand. She finished with a score of 24-under, having four successive rounds below 70.

The Thai superstar also won the challenging Mizuho Americas Open with rounds of 67, 69, 70, and 69 to finish the championship at 13-under.

At the same time, Korda has been having an amazing time on the greens. Apart from the victory in the major, Korda has secured her titles at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament and the Riviera Maya Open.

Apart from wins, Korda also demonstrated impressive second-place results at the Ford Championship, Fortinet Founders Cup, and Aramco Championship. These accomplishments set the benchmark for other players, like Thitikul, encouraging them to perform better.
